Connect your domain
Give your help center an address that belongs to your brand.
Before you begin
In Prod Forum, custom domains require an active Starter (from $9/month with your own AI key) or Growth (from $29/month with your own AI key) subscription. The Free plan uses your hosted address at prodforum.com/p/your-workspace.
Use a subdomain you control, such as help.example.com. You will need permission to edit its DNS records.
Add your hostname
- Open the Prod Forum dashboard and choose Domains.
- Enter your hostname without
https://or a path. - Add the CNAME record pointing to customers.prodforum.com.
- Add the ownership and certificate verification records shown in the dashboard.
- Select Verify after the DNS changes have propagated.
For the hostname itself, use DNS-only mode while setting it up unless your DNS provider has a supported configuration for Cloudflare for SaaS.
Wait for secure activation
DNS changes can take time. Prod Forum keeps the domain pending until Cloudflare confirms both hostname ownership and an active TLS certificate. We never mark a domain active just because a CNAME exists.
Keep the validation records in place so the certificate can renew.
Troubleshooting
If verification fails, check for conflicting A, AAAA, or CNAME records at the same hostname. Confirm every verification record matches the dashboard exactly, then try again.
